Thank you for wanting to operate a receiver!
Here is some information about the receivers we build.
What's in the box:
There is a self-service portal. The link for your node is attached as a QR code to the back of the receiver, and it can also be found on the packaging, on the delivery note, and in the shipping confirmation e-mail. You can protect your node with a password: Node Registration
You can power your receiver via Power over Ethernet (PoE) or USB.
With USB, it doesn't matter which of the two ports you use. Both are connected to the internal 5 V supply through a diode.
The power consumption has been measured by several users and is about 1.7 W to 2 W.
On the receiver, a jumper lets you choose between active PoE (802.3af) and passive PoE. In the 802.3af position, the jumper is only parked and has no electrical connection.
For outdoor installations, see Surge Protection.
The receiver has no web interface on the local LAN. Config parameters can only be set via MQTT (in the self-service portal) or via USB.
Since the antenna of the ESP32-C5 is already used for C-ITS, a WLAN connection is not possible. For mobile operation, we recommend a WLAN repeater / range extender with a LAN port. There are also models that can be powered via USB.
