Node Registration

To report packets from a receiver to OpenTrafficMap.org, the data must be sent to our MQTT server. The connection string can be found here: /its-g5-receiver-firmware/main/config.c

No username or password is required for the MQTT server.

By default, the node name is the Ethernet MAC address of the ESP32. We are happy to replace it with a friendly name in our database and, on request, we can also display the receiver on the map with GPS coordinates.

If you received a receiver through our group order, a QR code with a link to the self-service portal is included (the link is also included in the shipping e-mail). There you can adjust the LED brightness, reboot the node, and view its messages on MQTT. If you built a receiver yourself, just send us the MAC address by e-mail and you will receive access credentials.

The self-service portal also provides credentials that allow you to subscribe to the messages of your own node.

With User Password you can protect the self-service portal of your node; without the password, it can no longer be accessed.

If you enable Show on map and enter coordinates, your node will be shown to everyone on the map.
